Only Slightly Drunk

Season 3.17 - OSD Three is now OSD Four...Chicago's nickname, The White Ship Disaster and The History of Ouija Boards

Robbo, Johnny and Logan Season 3 Episode 17

It’s nearly the end of the season, and it’s the penultimate episode!

To kick things off, we here at OSD Towers would like to welcome Eddie P as a permanent Host, rather than, as he always whined about before “first reserve”.

Johnny starts as usual with TYO, and among other things, we learn how long it would take a single droplet of water to travel the Mississippi river.

Robbo talks us through a meteor shower that’s occurring as we speak in Bits of Space, run outside now and see it! Then come back and keep listening.

Logan talks us through the interesting parts of the history of Henry I and covers the White Ship disaster, an event that changed the course of English history and directly led to the first English civil war.

Then we get to the main subject – Ouija Boards. How were they invented, how do they work, are they real, what’s their history and do the chaps believe they’re real? What famous person would each of them want to contact if they could, and more importantly, would they ever actually use one at all? And for the science minded among you, Logan explains how and why scientists believe that the only way they work is via human interaction, and there’s nothing paranormal to see here.

Finally, it’s Bollocks or Not, and if Robbo doesn’t win this week, the best he can hope for is a draw with Johnny in the race for the season title. And if Johnny wins, he’s champion with an entire episode to go. Tense or WHAT?!

If you want to know how much gold is in the middle of the earth and how deep it could cover the surface of the planet if we managed to extract it, whether we really did or didn’t have a King called Stephen (Stephen!) and if Eddie P believes in Ouija Boards or not, then grab a glass, sit down and enjoy another Only Slightly Drunk.
