Season 3.12 - Bobby Charlton Tribute, Could You Diffuse a Bomb and Should Celebrities be Role Models?
Oct 27, 2023 Season 3 Episode 12
Robbo, Logan and Johnny

The clocks go back this weekend, so we all get an extra hours sleep…or lose an hours sleep? Actually, who cares? I can never tell, and let’s be honest, the only time most of ever cared was when we were in a nightclub and got an extra hour to drink watered down beer and be turned down by every single woman we spoke to. Or maybe that was just Logan…

Anyway, as the nights get darker earlier, this is the perfect time to draw the curtains and enjoy a drink with the OSD boys in the comfort of a warm room. Or car. Or caravan. Or even shed - we’re not judging.

We kick off this week with a tribute to late, great Bobby Charlton, a legendary player and a wonderful and humble man.

Johnny takes us through some more TYO’s, including telling us what the strongest muscle in the body is.

Robbo then takes us through this weeks Bits of Space, and talks us through the difference between a meteor, a meteorite and meteoroid – it’s confusing but interesting stuff.

Then we get to the MAN QUESTION, and this week Logan wants to know if the chaps can diffuse a bomb. Their original answers are put to the test when Logan throws several curveballs, including one which he clearly hasn’t thought through and it throws the entire segment in fits of giggles whilst Logan tries to explain that no, really, honestly, it’s not as bad as it sounds.

The main subject this week spins out of our conversation about football being toxic, as we talk about whether celebrities should be role models. Are they role models, for a start? And if so, should they be, or should we, as a society be responsible for the standards we set, rather than abdicating responsibility to people who exist for nearly all of us as people we don’t actually know and will never meet? Robbo and Johnny come at it from different angles, and it makes things interesting.

Finally, it’s into bollocks or not, and Robbo desperately needs a win this week as he’s 4-2 down and time is running out for him to make a comeback this season. The tension is mounting!

Sit back and enjoy time with the chaps at OSD – the only podcast that makes you feel like you’re actually there.
